The history of the Russian Association for Entrepreneurship Education begins in 2008. The President of the Center for Entrepreneurship Victor Sedov, representatives of leading Russian universities and business schools, as well as a number of entrepreneurs decided to join forces in order to develop entrepreneurship education and research in Russia. At the time, such organizations had already existed in many countries for decades. For example, the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) had been successfully operating in the US for 52 years and had a member count of more than 800 people. Similar associations were also successfully functioning in China, Argentina, Korea, Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, India and other countries.
Ilya Dementyev, Pro-Rector for Innovative Development Projects at St. Petersburg State University was elected the first President of the Association.
In 2010, Alexey Komissarov, a successful entrepreneur, the founder of InCube business incubator and Entrepreneurship course professor at the joint МВА Kingston University and Academy of National Economy educational program became President of the Association. Alexey Komissarov was appointed Head of the Moscow Department of Support and Development of Small and Medium-Sized Business (since June 2011 – Head of Moscow Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Department, since 2013 – Moscow Government Minister, since 2014 – Advisor to the Mayor of Moscow).
The General Assembly of the Association members made the decision to elect Yu.B. Rubin President of RUAEE. Professor Yury Rubin is the founder and president of Moscow University for Industry and Finance “Synergy”, a member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Education and winner of the Government of the Russian Federation Award in the field of education. Denis Matvienko was elected Executive Director.
Currently, the Association’s executive management office is located in Moscow.

2010-2012 – Alexey Komissarov, an entrepreneur, the founder of InCube business incubator at the Academy of National Economy, a winner of the international Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Manufacturing nomination category, currently Advisor to the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.
2012-Present – Yury Rubin, a member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Education, Ph.D. in Economics, Professor, a winner of the Government of the Russian Federation Award in the field of education, the founder of Moscow University for Industry and Finance “Synergy”, a member of the Board of Directors at EFQUEL? a winner of the international Ernst & Yang Entrepreneur of the Year Award the Education nomination category.
